Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern, research-based technique where fine, sterilized needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points, tendons, ligaments, scar tissue, or near nerves to stimulate a healing response. Inserting a needle into trigger points can cause favorable biochemical changes which assist in reducing pain. Stimulating a trigger point with a needle helps draw normal blood supply back to the area and release tension.
Dry needling has been a highly regarded treatment strategy since the early 1980's. It is a safe, evidence-based, treatment performed by a certified physical therapist using sterile, single-use needles.
During your first session, a comprehensive evaluation will be performed to assess all areas of concern and critically analyze your medical history.  If determined appropriate, dry needling may be performed during that visit.  A plan of care will absolutely be set during that first appointment to include frequency, duration and treatment expectations including dry needling to quickly and safely help you achieve your full potential with therapy.
